How Can Music Affect Your Mood?

There are two types of general music; postive music and negative music. Positive music is music that leaves you with happy feelings and emotions when the songs finished. Romantic, upbeat, and soothing are three examples of a positive song. Positive music usually has little words and focuses more directly on the beats of the music. Many jam bands play upbeat music with little words that can be considered positive. If you’re interested in long musical songs with no lyrics, then try out Rothbury Music Festival, which will hopefully be playing in 2009.

Positive music is usually the type of music people turn to in order to lift their spirits because it is so calming and relaxing. Negative music on the other hand is the type of music that disturbs the nervous system. It brings out anger, depression, anxiety or sadness out in the listener. Artists that create negative music often do so purposely trying to express hatred through their sound. Unlike positive music, negative music often has lyrics involved. They are often about the frustrations and fear of everyday life. Negative music became popular in its usage in hard rock and heavy metal songs. From their stemmed recent genre of music such as punk and emo which can be considered negative music.
